本剧改编自作家水生大海的小说「午餐侦探」系列。在剧中，美月饰演的是不擅长与人交往，但是观察力优秀，在谜团面前会突然发生变化的推理狂·天野唯香，为了这次的角色她剪去了35cm的秀发，以短发造型出演。对于在公司内被传言的幽灵故事和身边失踪人物的去向等，唯香将运用天生的推理能力去挑战。 此外，与唯香一起参加午餐联谊的搭档，相貌清纯且不喜欢接受男性恩惠的肉食系女子·阿久津丽子由玲奈饰演。唯香和丽子就职的公司上司·龟田广由木村佑一饰演，工作出色受女性欢迎的职员·樱井健斗则由利树饰演。每集会有不同的帅哥嘉宾和充满个性的魅力演员登场，当然勾起食欲的「美味午餐」也是该剧的看点之一。。法伦（亚历克斯·帕蒂弗饰）作为一个夜晚的生物在这片土地上游荡，他开始接受自己的家人在残酷的煽动家雷诺兹（盖伊·皮尔斯饰）手中的悲惨损失。One day, thinking that it will make your wife and friends smile, you shave off the moustache that you have had for the last ten years. Viewers who like their conclusions tidy may rebel, but those who relish outstanding performances in the service of an intriguing idea will be entertained.
